I love my friends!!!

I know what your thinking... "well, that's a nice picture of rocks".  But, it's not just ordinary rocks.  It's an awesome placemat that my friend Liz gave me.

Check it out!  I put it on top of a dresser in my bedroom.  It matches perfectly.  THANKS LIZ, I LOVE IT!

meatballs

I forgot to post this...

While in Philly this weekend, my friends and I happened to park next to this billboard.  Just thought it was funny... check out the spaghetti warehouse at www.meatballs.com.  As a vegetarian, meatballs are not really my thing, but I think it's hilarious as a web address.

Art Star recap

So... I went to the Art Star Bazaar in Philly this weekend, and it didn't go quite as I had hoped.  Saturday was nice for about an hour before heavy rain, strong winds and a tornado watch rolled around.

After a couple of hours in the rain, I decided to pack it in for the day.  At first I was a little bummed, but then I realized it was a perfect opportunity to hangout with my fellow jewelry girls.  We went to a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant for dinner (thanks Annie!) and then we did a little shopping up Walnut street.

A few pics of my booth...

After a good night sleep, I tried to forget the rainy mess the day before and got ready for day two.  HALLELUJAH!!!  It was a beautiful day... warm, sunny, and breezy.

The entire weekend was a learning experience and now I'm getting ready for Renegade Craft Show in Brooklyn June 14-15.  My fingers are crossed for a better show.

i love creative people

Probably the best image I have seen in a LONG time.  Check out- www.innercitysnail.blogspot.com

Titled:  A slow-moving street art project

This is one of those genius "I wish I had thought of that" moments.  I guess you really can produce art just about anywhere.

Delaware

Anyone living in the Maryland/Pennsylvania/Delaware area, check out my work and the work of my friends at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art.  I believe the work is up for the month of June and part of July.

See the work of some very talented metalsmiths (and great friends)...

and more... sorry if I forgot.

ring series

A couple of months ago I posted about a new series of rings I was making.  However, I only posted a picture of one ring.  I'm thinking to myself... one is not a series.  A series is multiple items.  Silly me!  So here is ring #2 (in my series).  I'm not sure two is a series either.  But I promise there will be more to come.

Sterling silver "rock" cluster ring with bezel set turquoise and larimar.

***Probably one of my favorite creations to date.  YEAH!!!!***

busy at work

I know I haven't posted anything recently, but I've been hard at work getting ready for my summer shows.  HERE'S THE PROOF!!!  I know, not the most glamourous photo.  It's my typical work uniform... apron (check), ponytail (check), face covered in sawdust (check, check).
(you can't hear it, but my radio is also blaring).  Ahh... the good life.

a treat for me!

I forgot to mention... I stopped off at Towson University over the weekend to check out the metals/jewelry club sale.  I treated myself to two pieces. YEAH!!!

new work

I've added a few more designs to the catalog.  I'm really happy with the results and can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks.  (above: new dangle rock earrings w/bezel set turquiose)

New hand-pierced domed branch pattern ring

Branch pattern hoops

Stressing!!!

I have to admit I'm stressing a little bit.  My handful of summer shows begin in 4 weeks.  I've never done any outdoor craft shows so I'm not sure what to expect.  I'm sure I'll be fine, but I have a small little problem called... massive anxiety.  Right now my studio is in complete disarray and my bench top looks a little like the image above.  I have so many things I need to do, and I have no idea where to start.

Breathe!  Relax! You are going to do great!  (these are the thoughts I have to repeat over and over in my head)

I hope everyone else is having a more sane day.  CHEERS!

Spring has arrived

Finally I had a day off that was beautiful!  I'm not sure why, but I'm normally cursed with Mondays full of rain and cloudy skies.  I must of done something good this week and I was rewarded with SUN.  I'll take it.

I went to do some laundry at my dad's house this morning and enjoyed some time in his garden.  I could have stayed all day out there, but there was work to be done in the studio.  Aww shucks!
