happy weekend.

Happy weekend!

I'm hoping to get a lot of new work done in the studio today, but I first had to post my latest obsession...

a place to rest my head

Close your eyes and picture this...

A cabin in the woods, built up on sticks as though you were living amongst the trees.

Windows surrounding each side so that you could watch the birds and squirrels.

Big french doors that open to a bamboo deck that is big enough to be an extra room, except now the roof that covers you is actually the canopy of trees above.

You can look down through the branches and see the sunlight reflecting off the water in the lake below, creating the most wonderful flickers of color.

Now the sun is setting and you want to rest while listening to the bull frogs moan at night...

and you cuddle up and lay your head here-

Renegade Show Recap.

Renegade Craft Show Recap-

Most of our conversations went something like this-

Me:                                                 Hi, How are you today?
Person looking at my jewelry:  I'm terribly hot.  How are you?
Me:                                                 I'm hotter than hell!  Thanks for asking.
Person looking at my jewelry:  Ha Ha, ok have a good day.

The heat lasted just up until the point when a thunder cracking, lightning bolting, bucket pouring storm hit.  That's right... another show with rain,

rain,

and more rain,

and even more rain.

It got to the point where the rain was so strong we had to zip ourselves into the tent and physically grab onto the bars (the metal bars may I add... in the lightning) and hold the from blowing away.

Oh, I forgot to mention that the show was held inside of an old city swimming pool.  So when it rained, the ground flooded.  While carrying my stuff back to the car, I had to slosh through water up to my ankles.

Here's a hazy picture of Manhattan from the Williamsburg Bridge when we decided to get the hell out of Brooklyn and go home.

Despite the crazy weather late in the day, I do have to say that I got a chance to walk around and see some pretty cool vendors.   I hope all the rest of the vendors had a better 2nd day, but we were exhausted and decided to head home to Baltimore.

And thanks to my friend Liz who braved the trip with me so I had someone to talk to.

Well... CHEERS to  another show with fun, excitement, and a wet ass!

I love my friends!!!

I know what your thinking... "well, that's a nice picture of rocks".  But, it's not just ordinary rocks.  It's an awesome placemat that my friend Liz gave me.

Check it out!  I put it on top of a dresser in my bedroom.  It matches perfectly.  THANKS LIZ, I LOVE IT!

meatballs

I forgot to post this...

While in Philly this weekend, my friends and I happened to park next to this billboard.  Just thought it was funny... check out the spaghetti warehouse at www.meatballs.com.  As a vegetarian, meatballs are not really my thing, but I think it's hilarious as a web address.

Art Star recap

So... I went to the Art Star Bazaar in Philly this weekend, and it didn't go quite as I had hoped.  Saturday was nice for about an hour before heavy rain, strong winds and a tornado watch rolled around.

After a couple of hours in the rain, I decided to pack it in for the day.  At first I was a little bummed, but then I realized it was a perfect opportunity to hangout with my fellow jewelry girls.  We went to a fabulous Vietnamese restaurant for dinner (thanks Annie!) and then we did a little shopping up Walnut street.

A few pics of my booth...

After a good night sleep, I tried to forget the rainy mess the day before and got ready for day two.  HALLELUJAH!!!  It was a beautiful day... warm, sunny, and breezy.

The entire weekend was a learning experience and now I'm getting ready for Renegade Craft Show in Brooklyn June 14-15.  My fingers are crossed for a better show.
