mixedspecies

I found the most hilarious shop on etsy today... mixed species.  I could try to explain the humor, but it's better to check it out yourself.  Their advertising pictures are unbeatable.  Here are a few of my favorite products on their shop.

I'm always a fan of canvas totes.  Go recycling!!!
HUMANS ARE NO WAY TO TREAT A PLANET.
CANVAS IS THE NEW PLASTIC.

GLUE GUNS ARE GREATER THAN REAL GUNS.  Mixed species quote... "We are going to beat the CRAFT out of you."

lucy's place

I don't have any kids and I don't expect to have any  kids anytime soon.  But... I do have a handful of friends that are pregnant right now.  I found Lucy's Place on the front page of Etsy today.  I don't know what's cuter, the bright eyed baby or the outfit she is in.  Who knows if I will ever have kids...but if I do, they will totally have outfits like this one.

delicate

It's funny that I've always been attracted to thick solid metal jewelry, but I have recently been drawn to more delicate feminine pieces.  Carla Nuis, a metalsmith from the Netherlands, creates beautifully delicate pieces.  My favorite are her daisy rings.

sprout home

I have a hard time passing up anything that revolves around nature or the environment, here are a few things I've found at SPROUT HOME.
I can think of a hundred places in my house that I would want to put these lamp shades.

I have definitely gone through a few periods of being obsessed with sea life.  Who doesn't love sea urchins?

despairwear

I found this hilarious tee shirt and it made me wonder... with millions of blogs out there, how many people actually read them.  Bloggers spend hours of time recording their thoughts, pictures, artwork, etc...  Do that many people really care what I find interesting?
Check out www.despair.com for other pessimistic (but funny) items.

day off

Today I had a much needed day off and day away from Baltimore.  I hopped in my car and headed up I-95 to the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia.  I went to hangout with my sister and get a change of scenery. Although it was a great day, I was not expecting it to be the coldest day we've had this winter so far.  I think the high was 17 degrees with a windshield around 1 degree.  It was so frigid our faces were bright red (but so were everyone else's).

After a few hours of shopping, we had lunch in Rittenhouse Square and headed home for an evening of movies.  While shopping, we stopped at one of my favorite soap shops, Duross and Langel.  Check out what I found.  I know I went a little overboard, but trust me... if you go, you will never buy soap from Target again.  There are NO fake fruit smells, the employees are super chill and the atmosphere is relaxing.  Plus, its new store is right next to a gelato cafe.  What more could you ask for.

meditative walk

Would it be a meditative walk or a dizzying experience?

green company

I was reading House and garden magazine today and found a great "green" company.  Mio
Co-owned by brothers, Mio promotes a green lifestyle and sells products that are made from recycled materials.  I was drawn to these great floor screens.  Made of recycled cardboard, these boards can create fantastic room dividers without wasting massive amounts of  material or energy.  No tools are necessary, just assemble.

great book

I just found the best book at Barnes and Nobles yesterday... Wreck this Journal by Keri Smith.

I'm not sure why I have never seen this...but if you are a craftster who likes to keep the creative juices flowing... check it out.

Each page has a different fun little task, such as... "lick the page after sucking on a colorful candy" , "make a picture with a coffee spill", or my favorite "tear out the page, put it in your pocket, wash your pants, and then put the paper back into the journal".
